Helena and Ernesto live on their tobacco plantation in northwestern Argentina. Their marriage has been suffering for quite some time, and when Helena's cousin Joaquin comes to live with them to complete his rehab, it deteriorates further. Joaquin makes no attempt to hide his attraction to his older relative, and even though she initially rejects the very notion of it, Helena must admit that he arouses certain feelings within her. And as Joaquin and Ernesto grow closer to each other, things get very complicated indeed.
