EVERYBODY'S CHILD started as a film about why Edinburgh became the HIV capital of Britain during the 80s. But in order to tell this story, director Garry Fraser had to tell his own. As a recovering heroin addict who grew up in the squalor of a notorious Edinburgh housing estate, Fraser's life is intrinsically linked to the story of Scotland's underprivileged underclass. In this unflinching and at times disturbingly candid documentary he presents us with a harrowing portrait of life at the bottom rung of Scotland's class society.
GARRY FRASER is a Scottish born director. Through his government backed sosial enterprise, Wideo Media, he runs regular workshops for young people. The group make short films exploring their own social issues.
