17-year-old factory worker Heli lives with his father, wife, son and little sister Estela in a small ramshackle house in rural Mexico. Estela has an older boyfriend who wants to run off with her and get married, and thus, he decides to steal cocaine that has been confiscated by the Mexican army. Little does he know of the fateful consequences of this simple theft. Both tender, bleak and absolutely harrowing, HELI is a critical and unforgettable film about the innocent victims in the so-called war against drugs.
