A fascinating film about Mahlers 6th symphony
GOING AGAINST FATE is a documentary that follows conductor David Zinman and Zurichs Tonhalle-Orchestra through rehearsals, concerts and recordings of Gustav Mahlers 6th symphony. Through extensive interviews with Zinman and the many musicians, we get a fascinating glimpse into the workings of a top ranked symphonic orchestra. And through Zinman's telling of tales from Mahler's life, we are also treated to a deeper understanding of the maestro himself.
