In 2007, Texas-based oil company Kosmos Energy discovers a large offshore oil field 60 kilometers off the coast of Ghana, the first of its kind in the country's history. Kosmos quickly starts working toward the extraction of the first Ghanaian oil, but encounters several obstacles along the way. BIG MEN takes the viewer on a journey through the African oil industry, an industry characterized by greed, corruption and shocking cynicism. From billion dollar oil deals to Nigerian militia, BIG MEN offers a nuanced view on a complex situation.
