Underground music is recognized by its rebellious attitude and lack of commercial appeal and success. When director Farid Eslam decided to document the lives and work of young contemporary musicians in Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Israel and Palestine, he also witnessed their activism against the strict states suppressing their freedom. YALLAH! UNDERGROUND follows the promising artists before, during and after the Arab Spring, showing their individual fights, the wave of public protests and the diverse aftermath, while introducing the audience to the newest in contemporary Arab music.
