Filming the invisible

Built around British theologian John Hull’s audio recordings of his experience of going blind, critically acclaimed documentary NOTES ON BLINDNESS takes us on a journey into a world beyond sight. Using reconstructions to illustrate and embellish Hull’s experiences of losing his foothold in the visible world and his struggle to find new ways to navigate both physical and psychological space, the film highlights its subject’s wisdom and courage. Thus, what was quite certainly a harrowing ordeal for Hull becomes an enlightening experience for the audience.
