At the age of five, Padma Angdu started recalling his past life as a legendary Tibetan monk. The local lama quickly declared him to be a Rinpoche – a "living Buddha" – but life as a wise man is not particularly easy for young Padma. When he and his godfather/mentor/servant Urgyan Rickzen are ousted from the local monastery due to a surplus of Rinpoches, they set out on the long journey from Kashmir to Tibet. BECOMING WHO I WAS is a heartwarming film about the unique relationship between a reincarnated holy man and his trusted father figure.
