Still life, animated film

Vincent van Gogh has long fascinated filmmakers, but Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman's LOVING VINCENT is the first film to use the Dutch painter's own style to tell the story of his short and eventful life. The result of 120 animators, seven years and almost 65,000 handpainted frames, this is a visual experience quite unlike anything you've ever seen. The story starts after van Gogh's passing and sees his former model Armand Roulin take the audience through 130 of his paintings in an attempt to find an answer to the mystery of his untimely demise.
