Sophie finds herself in a state of extreme emotional confusion. She’e s a self-destructive, fearless, independent, charming, sexy, funny and vulnerable young woman. The protagonist shoots recklessly through the night, and encounters one dangerous situation after another – mostly represented by men. But sometimes Sophie is a threat to the men. You’ll remember SOPHIIIE! for a long time. Michael Hofmann has made a film “on speed” about a woman who doesn’t fit in, who’s lonely, or has simply lost her mind. And when we say “on speed” – we mean it in every possible way.
