The Norwegian reporter Øystein Bogen from TV 2 revisits Beslan one year after the terrible act of terrorism that hit the town and its inhabitors in September 2004. A PRAYER FOR BESLAN shows that the Chechen war also has serious consequences for the population on the other side of the border, where innocent victims try to cope with life after the slaughtering massacre that resulted in the death of almost 400 people, half of them children.

Øystein Bogen

Øystein Bogen is a journalist educated at University of Georgia, USA, and in Bergen, Norway. He was a travelling foreign correspondent for several years and is now Head of Foreign News Desk at TV2 Norway. His films before A PRAYER FOR BESLAN include ARDITAS’S WAR (2000), KURSK – A TRAGEDY IN THE BARENTS SEA (2000), A LETTER FROM THE GRAVE (2001) and THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING (2003).
