A BATTLE OF WITS is based on a popular Manga series, BOKKO, about China’s harrowing warlord period. An epic film with lavish scenery and great action. In 370 B.C, China was separated into seven nations and several other small tribes, one of these being the city state of Liang. The nation of Zhao is led by the terrifying prime commander Xiang Yangzhong who orders his troops to launch an attack on Liang in a bid to conquer the small city.

Jacob Cheung Chi-leung

Jacob Cheung Chi-leung (Hong Kong, 1959) is one of the most acclaimed filmmakers in Hong Kong cinema. Jacob Cheung Chi Leung graduated from the Artist Training Center of Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited (HKTVB). Jacob Cheung Chi Leung made his directorial debut LAI SHI, CHINA'S LAST EUNUCH in 1986. He started his career as producer with THIS THING CALLED LOVE (90). All of his films have been serious dramas or tragic-comedies, two of which, BEYOND THE SUNSET (89) and CAGEMAN (92), won the Best Film Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards, the latter also taking the Best Director Award. As a director and producer, Jacob Cheung has enjoyed remarkable critical success over the course of his distinguished career.
