Tel Aviv is a unique city in Israel, considered totally shielded from the conflict surrounding it. They call it «The Bubble». This film wants to burst that bubble. Three young Israelis get their cultural and sexual worlds tipped upside down when a gay Palestinian enters their lives. The film has gained a lot of attention in Israel for its frank treatment of homosexuality. This is advanced Romeo and Juliet with preconceptions turned around.
Born in New York in 1964, but grew up in Jerusalem. Is openly gay and has made several films depicting gay life in Israel, as in the romantic drama YOSSI & JAGGER (2002), a story about two soldiers who fall in love. He often uses elements from his own life, like his experiences in the military and his background as a dancer. He is one of few Israeli directors known outside of his own country, and is also the maker of some of the most profitable Israeli movies ever. He often writes his films with his partner, Gal Uchovsky.
