Captain Abu Raed

ORIGINAL TITLE:
Captain Abu Raed
Jordan / 2008 / 110 min
DIRECTOR:
Amin Matalqa
Inspiring and awardwinning independent film from Jordan – their first 35mm ever

Abu Raed is a lonely janitor at Amman's International Airport. He has never had a chance to see the world himself, but he experiences it vicariously through books and brief encounters with travelers. Finding a discarded captain's hat in the trash at work one day, he gets the attention of the neighborhood children, who believe him to be an airline pilot. Happy for the company, Abu Raed takes the children to colorful places around the world, through his fictional stories.
