Scandinavian reality times five

A bus driver keeps his passengers locked in the bus to force a confession out of the person who ruined a curtain; a man persuades his friends to play a prank that may or may not be considered homosexual rape on another friend; two teenage girls practice soft core pornographic poses in front of a digital camera; a man is injured by fireworks in his own birthday party; a teacher subjects her class to a psychological experiment in an attempt to expose a colleague. INVOLUNTARY presents the audience with five stark and strikingly immediate visions of Scandinavian reality.

Ruben Östlund

Ruben Östlund was educated at the School for Photography at Göteborg University and has since worked as a director, screenwriter, cinematographer and editor. He has made critically acclaimed short films and documentaries such as LÅT DOM ANDRA SKÖTA KÄRLEKEN (2001), FAMILJ IGJEN (2001) and AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL SCENE NR: 6882 (2005). INVOLUNTARY is his second feature film.
