As part of a complicated ploy to achieve money and citizenship, Lorna, in arrangement with local gangster Fabio, agrees to marry Claudy, a junky battling to quit heroin. The plan is for Lorna to stay married to Claudy for as long as she needs to obtain Belgian citizenship, whereupon Fabio will help fake Claudy's suicide and make it look like a heroin overdose. However, problems arise when Lorna starts to sympathize with Claudy.
