It's the summer of 1994 and the streets of New York are filled with hip-hop and marijuana. It seems like only Luke and his therapist Dr. Squires are excluded from the party. They become friends based on a mutual need: getting laid. In addition to being a portrait of New York and the sound of 1994, a time when Tupac and Biggie were alive but Kurt Cobain had just passed away, THE WACKNESS is an offbeat comedy about two lost souls stumbling towards maturity.
THE WACKNESS is Jonathan Levine's fourth directorial effort. He has previously made the shorts SHARDS and LOVE BYTES, in addition to the thriller ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE.
