HEAVY METAL IN BAGHDAD follows the Iraqi heavy metal band Acrassicauda from the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003, to 2007. Life as a heavy metal musician in Iraq was never easy, but with the change of regime, the band sees a possibility for real freedom. In addition to being a story about individual dreams and struggles in a nation plagued by almost constant upheaval, HEAVY METAL IN BAGHDAD also presents a fresh perspective on the situation in Iraq as seen by the people who live there.
Suroosh Alvi & Eddy Moretti

Pakistani-Canadian Suroosh Alvi is one of the founders of Canadian lifestyle magazine "Vice", which has established sister magazines in the US, Japan, the UK, Australia, Mexico and Scandinavia. In the wake of the magazine's success, Alvi has also established a record company, a retail clothing chain and produced a series of TV-shows and documentary films for the web-based TV-channel VBS.TV. HEAVY METAL IN BAGHDAD is Alvi's first feature lenght documentary film.
Eddy Moretti is one of the founders of VBS.TV and has worked both as a cinematographer and a director on a number of productions. HEAVY METAL IN BAGHDAD is his first feature lenght documentary film.
