In WAR CHILD director Christian Karim Chrobog takes hip-hop star Emmanuel Jal on a journey through his childhood as a child soldier. As they travel to Jal's native Sudan, they also travel through an adolescense marred by war, trauma and constant conflict. Since his international breakthrough, Jal has worked tirelessly to bring the situation in Sudan to the world's attention. He was an ambassador for the international development aid organization Oxfam in 2006, and was also a key figure in the production of the WAR CHILD movie.

Christian Karim Chrobog has worked at Time Warner's publicity office and is one of the founders of 18th Street Films and Tangier Pictures, where he works as both producer and director. WAR CHILD is his first film.
