AND WHEN DID YOU LAST SEE YOUR FATHER is a universal story of human relations. We follow Blake on a retrospective journey back to his childhood and youth in the fifties and sixties, as he remembers scenes from his family life. Through Blake's flashbacks we meet his father in all his past splendour, a bragging, selfish, charming and most of all, profoundly human countryside doctor.
Jim Broadbent plays the dying father and Colin Firth the son, who returns home to say goodbye to him. Matthew Beard as the young Blake reveals a great talent.

Then followed HILARY AND JACKIE in 1998 and the Steve Martin film SHOPGIRL in 2005.
