The Song of Sparrows
Poor Karim has the misfortune of letting loose an ostrich from the farm where he works, and is consequently fired. Not long after, he leaves for the city to get his daughter’s hearing aid repaired, but the trip also turns into a hunt for alternative sources of income. Left behind in the countryside are his dear and faithful wife, his deaf daughter and his son, who has grandiose dreams about a goldfish pool. Somewhat unexpected but fully deserved, Mohammad Amir Naji received the Silver Bear in Berlin as Best Actor for his interpretation of the proud and hard-working Karim.
