The World is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner
When Alex is a young boy, him and his family leave their native Bulgaria. After an eventful trek through Europe, they finally settle down in Germany. Years later, they embark on a journey back to the old country, when they are involved in a violent car crash, of which Alex is the only survivor. Suffering from amnesia, he is visited by his grandfather Vasil, who takes the young man to a small rural Bulgarian village, where Alex's childhood memories slowly emerge.
