Intense drama about a Belgian family being torn apart underneath the Moroccan sun

The family of a Belgian beurocrat leads a comfortable life on the coast of Morocco. But everything is not quite as dainty as it seems. One day young Louis has a startling conversation with his father Bruno, wherein the latter professes his decision to take his own life. From this moment on, Louis' every waking moment is spent looking after his father and making sure he does not go through with his plan. ANGEL AT SEA is an intense family drama which earned the top prize in Karlovy Vary earlier this year.

Frédéric Dumont

Frédéric Dumont is a Belgian director with a great many short films behind him, both fiction and documentary. In 2003 he made his first feature lenght documentary JUST A LINK, before putting the finishing touches on his critically acclaimed debut fiction film AN ANGEL AT SEA earlier this year.
