BOY INTERRUPTED is an intimite film about the vibrant young man Evan who suffers from a bipolar disorder and commits suicide when he is 15 years old. The parents, who directed and shot the film themselves, use this documentary to find an explanation for why this could happen. What really sets this film apart from other films about loss and grief, is the incredible objectivity, which enables the filmmakers to avoid appearing traumatised mourners looking for forgiveness.
