RIP: A Remix Manifesto
In RIP: A REMIX MANIFESTO filmmaker Brett Gaylor and musician Girl Talk takes us on a tour through the world of copyright, fair use, remixing and mash-ups. The result is a manifesto on what they believe is wrong with the today’s international copyright regime. Through mash-ups and interviews they seek to establish how today’s culture builds upon the past and how we should create a new form of copyright control for the 21th century. RIP is an interesting contribution to the ongoing copyright debate.
RIP: A REMIX MANIESTO is filmmaker Brett Gaylor’s debut as a documentary film maker. Gaylor started and is running the website opensourcecinema.org where users are encouraged to remix their films with other users and create their own remix of RIP.
