Steven Soderbergh returns with a film about corn, agricultural scams and a chubby Matt Damon. Hilarity does ensue

A new, chubby and improved Matt Damon plays the lead role as agricultural executive-turned-whistleblower Mark Whitacre in Steven Soderbergh's THE INFORMANT!. Based on the true story of a high ranking employee of the agricultural concern Archer Daniels Midland who decided to blow the whistle on an industry-wide price-fixing scam, THE INFORMANT! quickly establishes itself as quirky and intelligent dramedy. With Matt Damon turning in a stellar performance in the lead role, the film is a must-see for fans of Soderbergh's OCEAN-trilogy.

Steven Soderbergh

Steven Soderbergh is one of the most succesfull American directors of the last two decades. He began his film-making carrier with shorts and concert films, and had his big breakthrough with SEX, LIES AND VIDEOTAPE (1989). James Spader and Andie MacDowell starred in this film which was awarded the Palme d’Or in Cannes and was nominated for an Academy Award for best screenplay. Soderbergh is a very productive director who balances art and commercialism nicely; he has made award-winning movies such as ERIN BROCKOVICH (2000) and TRAFFIC (2000), in addition to the popular ensemble-movies OCEAN'S ELEVEN (2001), OCEAN'S TWELVE (2004) og OCEAN'S 13 (2007).
