ORIGINAL TITLE:
Wasted
Storbritannia / 2009 / 110 min
DIRECTOR:
Stuart Davids & Caroline Paterson
A bleak and naturalistic portrait of two Scottish junkie lovers.

Two young lovers, both junkies and street prostitutes in Glasgow, meet again after many years. They have shared a dark secret since their childhood and have to keep together to survive. WASTED is an uncompromising tale of two people dependant on each other for hope and survival. The film is shot on one location, an old factory, and real-life junkies and homeless people are part of the crew. The movie is beautifully shot with handhold camera and the directors have managed to create an unflinching and autentic film about these lives on the ringes of society.

Stuart Davids & Caroline Paterson

Stuart Davids and Caroline Paterson started the theatre company Raindog 18 years ago. They have directed and produced 13 plays, two short films and three awardwinning tv-series for BBC. They wrote and directed their debut feature film WASTED (2009) together and are working on their next film project. WASTED is the result of a creative prosess, which they have developed through many productions. The focus lies on improvisation to create new and fresh approaches to film making.
