An explosive election race on Africa's east coast

In 1957 Ghana became the first of the African colonies to achieve independence. Still the path towards democracy has not been simple. AN AFRICAN ELECTION gives an insider's view of the presidential elections in Ghana in 2008. How can the Ghanaian election commission avoid the same tragedy that has happened in so many African elections? This thrilling documentary captures the process and shows people’s struggle for democracy in West Africa.
