Claes Swangberg usually stays inside. In fact, he hasn’t left his Gothenburg flat for months. From time to time he decides to visit the library or the cinema, but he always finds a reason to postpone it. His social anxiety has made his apartment a prison. Martina Carlstedt’s movie about Claes is more than a documentation of his life, it is a long-awaited social connection. Through this warm and affectionate documentary Claes is brought to reflect about his situation and articulate his loneliness, anxiety and frustration.
Martina Carlstedt studies documentary filmmaking at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. Earlier work included TAINT (2006) and BADET (2009).
