TURKEY BOWL is a small and remarkably charming American indie film which revolves around an annual amateur game of American football among a group of friends. As the game progresses, we witness as a number of personal conflicts and hurt feelings rise to the surface as the temperature grows higher. With the game being played out in close to real time and the film ending soon after the game is over, TURKEY BOWL seems deceptively simple. That does not, however, change the fact that this is one of the most original and interesting American films of the year.
The American filmmaker Kyle Smith has written and produced the shorts CONFUSION HOOKS (2006) and SANTA ANA WINDS (2010). The latter was his thesis film at the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles.
