Macky Alston

MACKY ALSTON is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and a regular writer and reviewer on film and religion. He graduated from Union Theological Seminary in New York, but grew up in Auburn, Alabama. He is the director of the documentary The Killer Within (2006), The Hard Road Home(2007) and Questioning Faith (2002) among others. The film Familiy Name (1997) explored the legacy of slavery in America today and won the Freedom of Expression Award at the Sundance Film Festival.
