Chronicle of My Mother
Shortly after the death of his father, the mother of the successful and bitter writer Kosaku is diagnosed with dementia. Therefore she moves in with him, his four daughters and wife. CHRONICLE OF MY MOTHER spans over a great deal of time; it begins in the Late Fifties, and ends fifteen years later. With a clear eye for the aesthetics in Japanese culture and nature, director Masoto Harada closely portrays these three generations living together, uncovering their lives bit by bit.
