Before the Revolution
In the 60s and 70s, thousands of Israelis lived comfortable lives in Teheran, due to Israel's complex financial ties to the dictator Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. The Israelis enjoyed economic and social privileges ordinary Iranians could only dream of, but failed to acknowledge the increasing resistance against the Shah within the Iranian population. In 1979 the Iranian people's dissatisfaction culminated in revolution and thousands of Israelis living in Teheran faced an unknown future.
