In 2006 Canadian artist Pamela Masik set out to create a series of paintings of women who had disappeared from Vancouver during the last decades. Basing her paintings on a police poster which featured 69 photos of missing women, both she and the general public later discovered that 26 of the women had been murdered and buried at the farm of serial killer Robert Pickton. Masik's exhibition drew a lot of attention and criticism, and also raised questions about the investigation of the biggest serial killer case in Canadian history.
Presented in collaboration with the Bergen Academy of Art and Design.
