In the critically acclaimed action drama ALL IS LOST Robert Redford plays the part of a lonesome man crossing the Indian Ocean in a small sailboat. All alone with nothing but water in all directions, he delights in the solace and the majesty of the ocean. But when his boat crashes into a drifting container, resulting in a sizeable hole in the hull, it would seem his fate is sealed. A film with only one actor and very little dialogue, ALL IS LOST displays the tremendous skills of both Redford and director J. C. Chandor alike.
JEFFREY C. "J.C." CHANDOR is an American writer and director. His first feature-length film, MARGIN CALL, (2011) competed for both Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and an Academy Award in the «Best Original Screenplay» category.
