Drill Baby Drill
One day the inhabitants of a village in the eastern part of Poland wake up to the news that Chevron, one of the biggest oil companies in the world, are planning to build a shale gas well in their environmentally pristine farming region. When the inhabitants start making inquiries into the ecological ramifications of the drilling, they are met with complete silence by both Chevron and Polish authorities. But when Chevron's bulldozers show up unannounced to start the construction of the wells, the townspeople decide to take a stand against the mighty oil company.
LECH KOWALSKI is an American film director of Polish origins. His most notable film, D.O.A., is a documentary on the burgeoning UK punk scene at the tail-end of the 70's.
