To her friends, family and married lover Irene is an ordinary young woman, but in reality she works for a network of people who offers terminally ill patients the opportunity to bow out of life early, under the code name ‘Miele’. Irene is an idealist who is passionately convinced of the necessity of her actions, but when she meets an aging architect who pretends to be sick in order to have Miele help him die, she is forced to reexamine her world view. Quiet, sparse and well-crafted, MIELE is an existential drama told through the story of an unlikely friendship.
