In LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON we meet Ryota, a hard-working architect who prides himself in being able to provide a nice and respectable life for his wife Midori and their well-mannered six year old son Keita. But when Keita registers for primary school, a blood test reveals that he is not Ryota and Midori’s biological son. It is revealed that there was a mix-up at the hospital, and that their flesh and blood lives across town, where he is being raised by the lazy, but charming Mister Sakai and his wife. Hirokazu Koreeda’s new film is an entertaining and touching drama about family and fatherhood.
