We meet a young woman brushing her hair, looking over two sleeping children. Then we meet the children's father, who makes a meager living holding up an advertising sign in the middle of the motorway. The little family can only afford to live in a shipping container, since most of the breadwinner's salary is spent on alcohol and cigarettes. STRAY DOGS is a quiet, mysterious film about a broken family living on the outskirts of society in Taipei. With its long and lingering shots, it offers a strange and fascinating cinematic atmosphere.
