Christianity teaches us to refrain from violence and to love our enemies. Despite this, the US has recently seen the emergence of several religious circles where Christian faith is combined with Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). FIGHT CHURCH introduces us to several pastors who partake in the fighting, while at the same time spreading the good word. Refraining from moral judgments, the documentary lets them tell their stories and expound on their thoughts on religion and fighting. Thus, the viewer is left to make up his or her mind whether it's possible to love your neighbor as yourself and then punch him in the face.
Meet director Bryan Storkel at the screenings September 28. and September 29.
