Hide Your Smiling Faces
In a sleepy New Jersey town nine year old Tommy and 14 year old Eric spend their time exploring abandoned buildings and the expansive woods that surround them. It's a time of quiet monotony and almost sublime boredom that is occasionally punctured by the odd life-altering experience. No incident is more life-altering than when the boys find the lifeless body of Eric's friend by the foot of a nearby bridge. Both haunting and meditative, HIDE YOUR SMILING FACES is a precise evocation of how adulthood brushes childhood’s innocence aside.
