On March 8, 1971 eight ordinary citizens broke into an FBI office in Media, Pennsylvania. There they took hundreds of secret files and classified documents which they later shared with the public. The most significant revelation was an illegal surveillance program overseen by FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, known as the Counter Intelligence Program. FBI never solved the mystery of the break-in, nor did they discover the identities of the trespassers. Now for the first time, the members of the Citizens' Commission to Investigate the FBI have decided to come forward and speak out about their actions.
