After having been convicted for being an accomplice to a robbery, 15 year old Noah is ordered to leave his mother in the ethnically diverse high-rises of the eastern part of Oslo and move in with his father in a wealthy suburb on the western outskirts of the city. Yet, BARNERANEREN is not a tale of cultures clashing but an insightful portrait of a young man who is torn between different definitions of loyalty, ambitions and his own identity. Using fly-on-the-wall footage and artful reconstructions, the documentary merges reality and cinema to great effect.
