Filmed over a period of eight years, MR. GAGA documents the life and work of internationally renowned Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin. Having revolutionized modern dance as the leader of Tel Aviv’s Batsheva Dance Company, Naharin has become something of a hero in his homeland for standing up to the demands and censorship of the country’s conservative establishment. MR. GAGA won an audience award at Sundance earlier this year and is not only a fascinating portrait of an inspiring artist – it’s also the best film about dance since Wim Wenders’ PINA.
