In AMBULANCE, young Palestinian filmmaker Mohamed Jabaly follows a team of paramedics as they do their best to help wounded during the 51 Day War between Israel and Gaza in 2014. As the buildings and streets of Gaza are struck – seemingly at random – Jabaly and his subject are continuously racing to save the victims of Israeli grenades. And by presenting such a specific and shockingly brutal view of the consequences of the conflict, the director succeeds in giving the audience a unique understanding of the tragic realities of war.

Visit the ambulance at Torgallmenningen:
Experience audiovisual installations in the Gaza ambulance, where one can experience what it is like to race through the streets of Gaza. We are live online with people in Gaza that you can talk to. The director will be present most of the time, and there may be some popup surprises in and around the vehicle. This outreach project was developed for the world premiere in Sheffield recently and became a huge success. Welcome to Torgallmenningen and to the screenings.
After the screenings there will be a Q&A with the director and on Friday a small gathering at Cafe Opera after the screening.
