Fukushima, mon Amour
FUKUSHIMA, MON AMOUR tells the story of Marie, a young German woman who travels to Japan to aid the victims of the Fukushima nuclear disaster as part of a relief effort by the name of Clowns4Help. Inside the exclusion zone she meets Fukushima's last remaining geisha Satomi, and although they are polar opposites, the two women gradually grow close as they are forced to confront their own past. Filmed inside the same exclusion zone as it is set in, FUKUSHIMA, MON AMOUR mixes pitch black humour and striking black-and-white photography to tell an unusual tale of an unlikely friendship.
