As a single parent Andrés spends most of his time working, leaving his son Pedro to himself on the crime-riddled streets of the Venezuelan capital Caracas. When Pedro gravely injures another boy, Andrés decides that they must escape the inevitable retaliation. These dramatic circumstances put added strain on a difficult father-son relationship. Gritty, realistic and fast-paced, LA FAMILIA is a riveting and highly promising debut from director Gustavo Rondón Córdova that reflects his country's social crisis.
