Bill Haney’s new documentary is a portrait of 2018 Nobel Prize Laureate James P. Allison and his career-long quest to find a cure for cancer. The film chronicles Allison’s life and work, from his childhood attending a school which forbade teaching the theory of evolution, through decades spent researching ways to make the human body’s immune system fight cancer cells. JIM ALLISON: BREAKTHROUGH is an engaging film which shows us just how much creativity, stubbornness and hard work is needed to facilitate a scientific breakthrough of this magnitude.
WINNER FILM: Winner of the Gulluglen Award. Read about the award winners here.
