The winners at the 2019 Bergen International Film Festival are the following:
DOCUMENTAIRE EXTRAORDINAIRE: MIDNIGHT FAMILY
Winner: MIDNIGHT FAMILY (Director: Luke Lorentzen)
Honorable mention: SCHEME BIRDS (Director: Ellen Fiske, Ellinor Hallin)
Documentaire Extraordinaire is the competition programme for international docmentaries. The winner film will be awarded 30 000 NOK. The award is presented by VGTV.
CINEMA EXTRAORDINAIRE:HOUSE OF HUMMINGBIRDAND LA LLORONA
Shared award to: HOUSE OF HUMMINGBIRD (Director: Bora Kim) and LA LLORONA (Director: Jayro Bustamante)
Cinema Extraordinaire is the competition programme for international fiction films. The winner film will be awarded 30 000 NOK.
CHECKPOINTS AWARD: FOR SAMA
Winner: FOR SAMA (Directors: Waad Al-Khateab, Edward Watts)
Award for best human rights documentary in collaboration with the Rafto Foundation for human rights. The award is 25 000 NOK to the cause the film is about.
GULLUGLEN/THE GOLDEN OWL: JIM ALLISON: BREAKTHROUGH

Hororable mention: ALMOST HUMAN (Director: Jeppe Rønde)
Gulluglen is the award for the best research and science documentary, in collaboration with the University of Bergen.
BEST NORWEGIAN DOCUMENTARY: DESCENT INTO THE MAELSTROM
Winner: DESCENT INTO THE MAELSTROM (Director: Jan Vardøen)
Honorable mention: KAMPEN (Director: Janne Lindgren)
The award is 25 000 NOK, given by NRK.
BEST WESTERN NORWEGIAN SHORT FILM: THE FIRST DAYS
Winner: THE FIRST DAYS (Director: Nina Knag)
Honorable mentions: RISING WATER (Director: Niels Windfeld) og ELLA (Director: Tommy Næss)
The award is 10 000 NOK.
BEST NORWEGIAN SHORT DOCUMENTARY: THIS IS GRANDMA
Winner: THIS IS GRANDMA (Director: Anine Wiesner Barg)
The award is 10 000 NOK, given by VGTV.
BEST NORWEGIAN SHORT FILM: FUN FACTORY
Winner: FUN FACTORY (Directors: Even Hafnor, Lisa Brooke Hansen)
The award is 10 000 NOK given by BIFF.
TV 2 YOUTH DOCUMENTARY AWARD: DRAG KIDS
Best documentary in this year's school programme, awarded by the board at the youth film society HUFF, with a 15 000 NOK prize given by TV 2.
BEST NORWEGIAN MUSIC VIDEO: NOZOMI - Teddy and the Love Gang!

The award was presented at Norwegian Music Video Competition Night in collaboration with Vill Vill Vest on Saturday 28 September.
