We are overjoyed to be able to screen films during Cine Latino to an enthusiastic festival audience, the way films should be seen: at the cinema! We're now really looking forward to inviting the audience back to BIFF in October.

In the first film release, you'll find 20 festival favorites from this year's festivals. We've gathered some favorites from Sundance and the Berlinale, and the BIFF audience will also get to see films from the cancelled SXSW and digital Cannes, CPH:DOX and Hot Docs on the big screen. We're also looking forward to being able to offer fresh titles from Venice, Toronto and San Sebastián.

We're excited to announce that at BIFF you can watch Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti in this year's funniest romantic comedy from Sundance: PALM SPRINGS, fantastic Frances McDormand in one of the most anticipated titles from Venice and Toronto: NOMADLAND, as well as a reimagining of Neverland by the director of BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD: WENDY.

Among the films in this year's first film release you'll also find Ai Weiwei's most recent film VIVOS, this year's possibly most important LGBT+ documentary WELCOME TO CHECHNYA, the audience favorite at CPH:DOX THE FIGHT FOR GREENLAND, Ron Howard's REBUILDING PARADISE, Riz Ahmed in MOGUL MOWGLI, as well as Tilda Swinton in Jóhann Jóhannssons first and only film: LAST AND FIRST MEN.

This year's lineup will be released in parts until mid-September. Ticket sales will begin Friday 25 September.
